Watch Page Descendants
Introduction
Notifications for ScriptRunner for Confluence gives the ability to automatically watch an entire hierarchy of pages with just one click. In the same way, you can stop watching the hierarchy at any moment.
Watch Descendants
-
To watch all the descendants of a page (and the page itself) please select the Watch descendants checkbox.
-
After the selection, the Watch descendants and Watch page checkboxes will be selected. The Watch page checkbox will also be disabled as the descendant watching functionality automatically includes the root page.
-
If you watch a large page tree with many descendant pages, the watching process may take a few seconds. In this case a progress bar is displayed.
-
When you navigate to a page that has the watch descendants feature enabled a link will display that navigates you to the ancestor page, this is the page that the feature was enabled on. This allows users to quickly navigate to the ancestor page in order to adjust their notifications settings.
Note
|
If you create new pages or move existing pages into a page tree which is watched, these pages will be automatically watched. |
Unwatching Descendants
-
In order to stop watching all the descendants of a page (including the page itself) please deselect the Watch descendants checkbox.
-
If you stop watching a large page tree with many descendant pages, the unwatching process may take a few seconds. In this case a progress bar is displayed.
Note
|
If before selecting the Watch descendants checkbox you are already watching the ancestor page, the notification will be preserved after you stop watching the descendant pages. |
Personal Watches
You can also check the watch descendants functionality from your personal menu.
